PercePtion Driving Tuition Covid-19 Policy

In order to create a safe hygienic learning environment for both students & Instructor I have formed a coherent policy based on the government Covid-19 guidance for businesses.

Stay Alert

Control the Virus

Save Lives

As you are aware the COVID-19 virus can be transmitted via various routes such as the following:

  • COVID-19 is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which spreads between people, mainly when an infected person is in close contact with another person.
  • The virus can spread from an infected person’s mouth or nose in small liquid particles when they cough, sneeze, speak, sing, or breathe heavily. These liquid particles are different sizes, ranging from larger “respiratory droplets” to smaller “aerosols”.
  • Other people can catch COVID-19 when the virus gets into their mouth, nose, or eyes, which is more likely to happen when people are in direct or close contact (less than 1 metre apart) with an infected person.

If you develop COVID-19 symptoms, self-isolate immediately and get a PCR test, even if your symptoms are mild. This is because many people experience mild symptoms from COVID-19, but may still pass on the virus to others.

The most important symptoms of COVID-19 are recent onset of any of the following:

  • a new continuous cough
  • a high temperature
  • a loss of, or change in, your normal sense of taste or smell

You should self-isolate at home while you get a PCR test and wait for the results. You must self-isolate if you test positive. You must self-isolate from the day your symptoms started and the next 10 full days, or from the day your test was taken if you do not have symptoms and the next 10 full days. This is the law, regardless of whether you have been vaccinated. Self-isolating is important because you could pass the infection on to others, even if you do not have symptoms. You must isolate for the full amount of time you are told to, because this is the period when the virus is most likely to be passed on to others.

You may be able to end your self-isolation period before the end of the 10 full days. You can take a daily Lateral Flow Test from the sixth day of your isolation period, and another LFD test on the following day. The second Lateral Flow Test should be taken at least 24 hours later. If both these test results are negative, and you do not have a high temperature, you may end your self-isolation after the second negative test result. You should not take a Lateral Flow Test before the sixth day of your isolation period, and you should only end your self-isolation following 2 consecutive negative LFD tests which should be taken at least 24 hours apart.

Driving Lesson Guidance

COVID-19 remains a risk and you could still catch or pass on the virus, even if you are fully vaccinated. You are encouraged to exercise caution and consider the risks. While no situation is risk free, there are actions we can take to protect ourselves and others around us...

  1. You will need to complete a Client Risk Assessment  (click here) prior to your first lesson and advise if there have been any changes prior to each lesson thereafter
  2. If you have been in contact with anyone displaying symptoms; or if anyone in your household has tested positive in the last week please ensure you take a Lateral Flow Test (LFT) prior to your lesson and the result is negative
  3. If I (your instructor) have any of the above I will inform you and reschedule your lesson
  4. All vehicle touchpoints will continue to be sanitised prior to your lesson
  5. Please wash your hands / use hand sanitiser prior to your lesson
  6. The Government expects and recommends that people wear face coverings in crowded areas or close proximity.  You should continue to wear a face covering when in the vehicle.  You should provide your own face covering and be responsible for bringing your own PPE with you to lessons
  7. Vehicle windows will be open to ensure ventilation and the fan set to bring air in from outside the vehicle and not circulate air
